Miss Maud

Miss Maud? She is still around you know; she opened up Miss Maud in 1971 and today it is one place in Perth we can be proud about. I like to hang out here with my friends (cousin included) to chill and chat. Me and my cousin love the carrot cake and hazelnut latte there, but that's not the only thing to love.

The environment she creates is like none other, it's supposedly Swedish but anyways it's really different from other restaurants and cafes in town or anywhere else. Another all-time favorite my family loves to order on birthday occasions is Miss Maud's black forest cake.
If you ever come down here, visit Miss Maud...

Gelares

As you can see, I've been to this place on so many separate occasions ever since I started studying to become a teacher. I've come to this place with so many different groups of people from my grandparents, parents, cousins, siblings, and my friends.

On this occasion, my grandparents were visiting us for three weeks and this was the first time they had a taste of ice cream and cream in Perth. My grandma requested for second servings because she enjoyed it so much! My mom even asked for extra cream and the guy really served a big dollop of cream-bigger than the ice cream servings!!!
With my friends, we come here occasionally on the holidays, after exams, or just to chill.
I just had to bring my newly-wedded cousin sister-in-law here to try it!
With my siblings and cousins, we come out here at night to chill and chat together while enjoying a serving of Gelares' ice cream, cream and waffles with maple syrup.
I haven't tried all the flavors but I have few favorites... Jamaican Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, and Mint Choc Chip. For the fruit lover, wild strawberry would be the best.

Icey Ice

I tried this place a while back when my good friend came over to visit us. It was a spur of the moment kind of idea but it was worthwhile and very memorable. While we were shopping at Perth's Harbourtown, an outlet for branded reject clothing items (quite small actually when compared to Melbourne's Harbourtown) but anyways, we were a little hungry and a little thirsty. So we came by Icey Ice.
We shared a peanut and chocolate flavored large bowl of ice shaving with the toppings, which we polished off in a few minutes after taking a few photos.
Our friend ordered the extra pancake cone-looking thingy which she thoroughly enjoyed by herself. I think she enjoyed her short visit to Perth. She held the cone as if she had won an award or something.

Chocolate lounge

One sunny morning, my friend and I just wanted to chill with a cup of hot chocolate in a nice lounge. It just so happened that there was this new place in town she introduced to me, so we went.

This is the mocha hot chocolate which was pretty awesome, and it stayed warmed throughout the entire two hours we spent catching up. The mug sits on top of a small lit candle which looks pretty funky.
